A strong and healthy liver is a must for bipolar people. That’s because depression or mania doesn’t start in the brain. Health gets disrupted in the liver first. You or your children may have certain tendencies toward bipolar expression because of family genes, but your emotional health today is affected by what you’ve been feeding your liver. Take special dietary care of the whole family.

Let’s set up a personal health test for you and the family:

  • First of all, take notice what happens to the mucous level in your throat after eating. Then notice what you ate. If a particular food causes phlegm, coughing, hacking in the back of your throat, you know it’s acid-causing and not good for your liver or your general health. Acidity sets the stage for depression and emotional distress (mania to rage).
  • Second, you might like to test the acidity of your urine or saliva with inexpensive test strips from the health food store or pharmacy. Adjust your food intake so your test shows alkaline. You don’t want to have an acidic system because disease thrives in the acid environment. Eat green things and vegetables to adjust your alkaline/acid balance. (and drink our NingXia Red antioxidant drink!)
  • Third, look in the mirror and see if your skin tone is yellowed or even orange. My skin used to be bronzed orange, even during the Montana winters. People thought I was highly tanned, but my liver was overflowing. My liver was toxic.
  • Do you feel electrical zings in your extremities?
  • Is your digestion messed up (gurgling, bloated, painful cramps, constipated, diahrrea, reflux?
  • Headaches?
  • Depression? Mania?
  • Mood swings, especially rage?

Your liver is probably a mess.
