Bipolar People Shine Locally

Winston Churchill, the Hero, one of the most important men in modern history, was bipolar. He couldn’t have been as successful, couldn’t have had such innovative out-of-the-box thoughts, couldn’t have been as big a risk taker if he hadn’t been bipolar.

So if you, or somebody you know, has bipolar disorder, be sure to give the support and recognition due to the strong bipolar mind. It’s the stuff heroes are made of.

I’ve recently discovered my Girlfriend who writes Hub Pages and here’s what she has to say about her own bipolar experience:

” I can also remember in my own childhood (around jr. high) going to band competitions or sporting events and being the most screaming, out of control, cheering student in the stands. I remember my class mates looking at me strange and I was thinking, “they just don’t have as much school spirit as I do”, when in fact, I was making a fool of myself. I remember on the bus rides home getting very quiet and wanting to be by myself for no good reason. As a child, if I felt board or alone, I would sit in my room banging my head against the wall for lack of knowing what else to do. I did not know anything about mania. But when I got the news I had Bi Polar Disorder, the most profound memory that came to me was when I wondered to myself, in jr.high, did I have a split personality because I could be so upbeat at one moment and so solemn the next. (That was around the time that the stories about “Sybil” were such big news). Although I came to the conclusion I did not have a split personality, I muddled along through my teenage years wondering what was wrong with everyone else; why they didn’t understand things the way I did. Having Bi Polar Disorder, I didn’t realize I was the one out of the ordinary, I just thought everyone else just didn’t have the zeal, the passion I had for things.

I would also like you to know that with Bi Polar Disorder sometimes come great gifts. As a child I played five different instruments: Clarinet, Bass Clarinet, trumpet, French Horn, and the drums. I was very smart and could think things out so well I was often called upon by my father when he couldn’t think things out. My daughter has always pulled good grades and been a least at the top two of her class. My son is one of the wises young men you will ever meet. We are very creative and think outside the box, which sometimes can lead to great success.”
