Bipolar Basket Case Recovers Without the Use of Drugs

Posted by David B. and Dianne Hansen | August 8, 2009 .

Does he look like a basket case now?5 ½ years ago, Dave was ready for the rest home.  Today he is working daily, making responsible decisions, growing healthier, and is relatively emotionally stable.  Let’s begin 5 ½ years ago…

He is strong, sometimes super strong.  He is vibrantly, electrically attractive…women gravitate to him.  He looks good, but he feels bad.  His body is falling apart and his flesh has the feel of a rotting, spawning fish…soft with a side-slip.  He’s losing it.

Along comes a woman who is a health nut and she sweeps him off his feet.  Right from the first, she coerces him to join her crusade, knowing nothing about bipolar herself. How can they live on the same path if he doesn’t cooperate?  So he succumbs graciously, suspecting a rescue mission, him being the object of the mission.  Suspicion turns to hope.  Hope turns to reality.

Now he works all year round without the interruptions of debilitating seasonal mood swings or body-crashing bouts with severe pain.  He hardly ever gets a cold, much less the flu.  He hasn’t gone berserk and hasn’t been admitted to a mental health facility again.

He plans projects, carries them out, achieves his goals.  His mind no longer whizzes around in 15 different directions at once…maybe just 2 or 3 or 4.  He’s not constantly bothered with chemical ups and downs that toss him into depression or grandiose thinking. He can manage his thoughts.

Yes, he is reminded from time to time to take it easy, be careful what he eats, because his body can swing around and betray him just like the old days.  No, he doesn’t depend on his health nut to coax and coddle him as in the beginning.  He takes care of himself by watching his own diet and by taking his own supplements…but he appreciates her help. He faithfully drinks Kangen Water.

In fact, the peaceful, caring, atmosphere of their home and her faithful companionship are incalculably valuable to his stability.  She respects him, she honors him, she stays beside him, and she loves him.

Together, they are moving forward, learning to face each threat to stability.  Did I mention that he can read now?  5 ½ years ago he couldn’t concentrate to read the funnies.  Now he reads books back to back, some fictional, some factual.  He has broad interests and has learned that he can, in fact, depend on his brain.  He can think well and feel well.  He’s a fine man, admirable, amazing in many ways, a wonderful friend to many people.  A wonderful mate.

Why?

Because he learned to watch his diet and his stress levels, his exposure to power sources, and again, his diet.  He came to realize that his body is made of what he eats and if he wants a strong chemical composition of his brain, he must eat nutritious foods, drink good alkaline water, and add supplementation to his diet as well.

Are there special foods that nourish his brain?  Yes.  Are there exceptional supplements? Special alkalizing water? Yes. Go to http://healthytipsforyou.com where you will find answers and recommendations.  Everyone is free to choose which drugs they will take to manage bipolar disorder, but this man was free to choose to be drug-free.  His health nut showed him how to rebuild his health and emotional strength, how to plan for stability and expect success.  She didn’t know it wasn’t possible.
